United not keen on freebie Joe

Manchester United will not sign Joe Cole, according to Sky Sports sources.

Cole has been released by Chelsea and reportedly has England's top clubs fighting for his signature.

However, United have distance themselves from the midfielder, who is currently on World Cup duty with England.

Arsenal were strongly rumoured to have secured his signing earlier in the summer, but recently the Red Devils had emerged as favourites.

That seems unlikely now, so Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City can still battle it out for the 28-year-old.
