Woods Ready for US Open

Tiger Woods is nearing his best form as he prepares for the US Open later this week, according to his practice partner Arjun Atwal.

The two are neighbours in Florida and often play together, and Atwal was glowing in his praise of the world number one.

"His practices have been really good the last couple of weeks at home. Every day it has got better. He feels he is very close. It is just a matter of when the bell goes off if he can do it then. I think he can."

Since his return from a five month exile after his much publicised extra-marital activities, Woods has struggled find his form.

He tied for fourth at upon his return at the Masters in April, but followed that up by missing the cut at the Quail Hollow Championship, withdrawing from the final round of the Players Championship and finishing for 19th at the recent Memorial tournament.
