French striker Nicolas Anelka is to be sent home after telling manager Raymond Domenech to "fuck yourself" at half time during their defeat to Mexico.
According to French sports newspaper L'Equipe Anelka verbally abused the coach, reportedly saying,
"Go fuck yourself you son of a whore."
Domenech responded by replacing the striker with Pierre Gignac after half time but the team went on to lose 2-0 to the South Americans.
Reports of disharmony have been rife in the French squad. Before their opening game, Flourent Malouda apparently had some words for his manager and had to be restrained by captain Patrice Evra.
The French Football Federation vice-president, Christian Teinturier believes if there is any truth to the reports about Anelka, then he should be sent home.
"If the words we have just heard have been used, he has nothing to do there [at the World Cup],"
It's not secret that the French have been poor at the World Cup but it's unacceptable to say "you son of a whore". Disagree with the tactics, give constructive crictism but Nico, leave the mother out of it!
